This is perhaps the most famous
treks of the Himalayas. Starting from the lush green valley of
the Himalayas, it slowly traverses the great Himalayan range and
as it arrives in the trans-himalayan range the landscape and the
people go through an amazing transformation. The scenery here is
truly spectacular and the monasteries are really remote and
cliffhanging.
Day 1: Arrive - Delhi
Arrive Delhi & transfer to hotel.
Day 2: Delhi-Manali
Morning transfer to airport to connect with flight to Kulu.
Drive to Manali for overnight stay.
Day 3: Manali
Morning half day city tour. PM: At leisure. Overnight stay in
hotel.
Day 4: Manali - Jispa
Drive to Jispa via Rohtang Pass (3995m). Overnight at hotel.
Day 5: Jispa - Darcha - Palamu
Drive to Darcha where you are met by the mules and other camp
staff. Trek to Palamu 12 kms. Easy & gradual ascent to
Palamu. Camp for overnight.
Day 6: Palamu - Zanskar Sumdo
Trek to Zanskar Sumdo 14 kms. Camp next to the river.
Day 7: Zanskar Sumdo
Fullday at leisure to acclimatize.
Day 8: Zanskar Sumdo - Chumi Napko
Cross the river in the morning & Trek to Chumi Napko 14 kms.
Arrive and camp for overnight.
Day 9: Chumi Napko- Shingo La (4990m) -
Lower Lakhang
Trek to Lakhang by crossing Shingo La (4990 M) 16 km. Arrive and
camp for overnight.
Day 10: Lakham - Kurgiak - Khey
Trek to Khey via the first village of Kurgiak 17 km. Arrive and
camp for overnight.
Day 11: Khey - Karo - Purne
Trek to Purne via Karo village for 14 km. Arrive and overnight
stay in tents.
Day 12: Purne
Morning excursion to Phutkal Gompa. Overnight in camps.
Day 13: Purne - Pihula
Trek to Pihula for 12 km. Arrive and overnight stay in tents.
Day 14: Pihula - Reru
Trek to Reru for 12 kms. Arrive and overnight stay in tents.
Day 15: Reru - Padum - Ringdom
Morning drive to Ringdom Gompa enroute visiting Padum, the
capital of Zanskar. Overnight in Camp.
Day 16: Ringdom - Kargil
Drive to Kargil. Arrive and overnight in Hotel.
Day 17: Kargil - Leh
Drive to Leh enroute visit Lamayuru Monastery, Alchi Choskor.
Arrive & overnight in hotel.
Day 18: Leh
Visit the famous monasteries of Shey, Thiksay & Hemis.
Day 19: Leh - Delhi
Flight to Delhi. Arrive and transfer to hotel for overnight
stay.
Day 20: Delhi
Fullday sightseeing of the city of Delhi.
Day 21: Depart Delhi
Transfer to International airport to board flight for onward
destination.
